Thermal imaging is a technology that detects radiation in the long-infrared range and produces images of that radiation. More and more applications have been developed for thermal imaging, but insufficient thermal sensitivity limits the possibility of many useful applications. Switching to high sensitivity thermal sensors requires an extra cooling system and dramatically lowers the cost-effectiveness. The theoretical limit of current materials is approaching, thus thermal sensitivity can barely be improved.

Using phase transition materials with engineered microstructure, our developing product, microbolometer is a thermal sensor for thermal infrared cameras. Our microbolometer provides 3-4 times better thermal sensitivity. Free from the cooling system, our product has an unrivaled advantage in cost-effectiveness. Our product greatly improves the temperature resolution, pushing the application boundary of ambient thermography much beyond the state-of-the-art, promising great values for commercialization.
